Rusk County Traffic Court Records
No single countywide JP traffic database exists for Rusk County. Five JP clerks each run their own precinct docket. Henderson, Kilgore, Overton, Tatum, and Mount Enterprise municipal courts keep their city cases separate too. Whatever court name sits on the citation controls. A city traffic violation never becomes a District Clerk or County Clerk record. The location of the stop does not change that.
Municipal courts handle traffic, parking, city-ordinance, and other fine-only Class C matters. Justice courts take fine-only criminal and traffic cases plus their own civil work. The court file can show the citation, plea, setting, payment, order, and disposition. A portal might show only the payment account. For official proof of the outcome, ask that court's clerk for the proper copy.
Who Issued the Rusk Ticket?
Before opening any portal, read the court block printed on the Rusk County citation. A Henderson police ticket belongs to Henderson Municipal Court. A ticket marked JP3 belongs to Rusk County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3. That holds true even when the stop happened near Mount Enterprise. The County Clerk itself points ticket holders away from its office. It sends them toward the justice-court route.
| Citation clue | Likely custodian | First action |
|---|---|---|
| City name or municipal court | That city court | Use city instructions or call clerk |
| JP precinct number | Named JP clerk | Use that precinct page |
| Unclear court | Issuing agency or court directory | Call before payment |
| District or County Court caption | District or County Clerk | Use county case route, not ticket portal |
This first check prevents a payment from being attempted in the wrong system.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Hold onto the original ticket. It carries the issuing court, citation number, appearance date, and the identity details the court may ask for. Overton runs the county's clearest multi-field public city portal, while Mount Enterprise uses TrafficPayment. Henderson and Kilgore publish court and payment instructions but offer no comparable public docket-search fields. Tatum works clerk-first.
- Read the issuing court and citation number from the ticket.
- Use only that court's official search or payment link.
- Search with the least sensitive supported field, usually citation number or name.
- If no result appears, call or visit the court counter; new citations may need posting time.
- Write down the court date, response deadline, status, and clerk contact.
Phone and counter service matter here. A city vendor result cannot find a JP case. Court dates aside, re:SearchTX may show integrated state court data, though it is not the primary path for these separate local citation systems.
Rusk County's Five JP Precincts
The Rusk County justice directory sends traffic matters to the right precinct. Local rules put JP1 in the northwest, JP2 in the northeast, JP3 in the southeast, JP4 in the south, and JP5 in the central area. Each precinct clerk controls that court's setting calendar.
| JP1 | 210 Helen Street, Overton; 903-834-3753; GovRec payment route. |
|---|---|
| JP2 | 150 W Davis Street, Tatum; 903-947-6440; forms and OfficialPayments. |
| JP3 | 306 NW 2nd Street, Mount Enterprise; 903-822-3737. |
| JP4 | 7933 SH 42 S, Henderson; official sources show conflicting phone digits, so verify. |
| JP5 | 210 Charlevoix Avenue, Suite 304, Henderson; 903-657-0308. |
Keep one limit in mind. A precinct payment link is not a countywide disposition search, so ask the named clerk for a certified traffic record instead.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
Start with the appearance date on the citation. The responsible Rusk County court should still confirm the current setting. A reset moves the hearing to a new date. A payment account or old calendar will not prove that new date. Call the clerk if the entry looks stale. Call again if the ticket has not posted or the location is unclear.
| Citation number | Use the exact printed code. Mount Enterprise requires eight digits beginning with a two-digit year; e-citations begin E00.... |
|---|---|
| Court | The municipal court or JP precinct holding the file. |
| Date and time | The current appearance, plea, or hearing setting. |
| Location | The hearing site, which may differ from the payment counter. |
| Status | Pending, disposed, or another court-specific term that the clerk can explain. |
Henderson says online processing may require 72 hours after issuance. Kilgore holds sessions at its police department. Its clerk works at City Hall. Mount Enterprise posts first- and third-Monday court hours. These local facts matter more than any generic county calendar.
Rusk City Ticket Search Patterns
The five Rusk County city courts take different approaches to public access. Overton exposes several search fields. Henderson publishes citation and resolution instructions, and Kilgore emphasizes session times, payment, and clerk contact. Tatum offers a city clerk and payment path with no search fields. Mount Enterprise uses TrafficPayment with a strict citation format.
| City | Public route | Key caution |
|---|---|---|
| Henderson | Court, citation, and payment pages | Wait 72 hours, but do not miss the date |
| Kilgore | Clerk and payment instructions | Hearings and payments use different sites |
| Overton | MunicipalOnlinePayments search | City portal, not countywide |
| Tatum | Clerk-first and city payment route | No public search fields observed |
| Mount Enterprise | TrafficPayment court ID 33 | Stop if the system warns of wrong court |
Need dates beyond the city? The Rusk County court dates route explains calendars at the county tier above city and JP courts.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Paying and contesting are different procedural choices. Paying generally enters the plea that court accepts and produces a disposition, while contesting requires a not-guilty response and a later hearing or trial setting. The citation and court instructions control the deadline. Ask the clerk about any local option before entering a plea.
| Pay | Contest |
|---|---|
| Follow the court's accepted plea and payment process. | Enter a not-guilty plea as the court directs. |
| Use online, phone, mail, or counter service only where offered. | Obtain the hearing or trial date from the court. |
| Keep the receipt and confirm posting. | Keep the setting notice and confirm changes. |
Each court sets its own terms. Henderson lays out payment plans, deferred disposition, and driving-safety options, all with eligibility conditions attached. Kilgore lists several payment channels but warns that an active warrant stays open until your payment is credited.
Missed response or setting: Contact the issuing court at once. Failure to appear may add a violation or warrant, and an online payment may not clear an active warrant until credited.
Overton's Rusk Citation Fields
The Overton municipal portal is the documented local search-field example. Begin with the least sensitive route that fits your own matter. Never publish birth dates, license numbers, or Social Security numbers.
| Search route | Required fields observed | Use note |
|---|---|---|
| Citation | Citation number and date of birth | Best when ticket is available |
| Name | First, last, and date of birth | Use when citation is missing |
| Driver license | Number and state | Use only as portal directs |
| Vehicle | Plate and state | City-court route only |
| Business | Business name | For business citations |
| SSN | SSN and date of birth | Avoid when a less sensitive field works |
A portal account is not a certified chronological docket; call 903-834-3171 for clerk help or a formal copy.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
Two offices keep two different files. The issuing court holds the Rusk County citation case. The Texas Department of Public Safety maintains the state driving record. The distinction simply directs a requester to the right record. A traffic payment page cannot substitute for either office's formal product.
| Court traffic record | State driving record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept by | Municipal or JP court clerk | Texas Department of Public Safety |
| Shows | Citation, plea, setting, order, disposition | State-maintained driving history |
| Request | Court portal, phone, counter, or copy request | DPS record-request channel |
Official proof works differently. When you need it, request a certified disposition from the court that heard the citation.
Rusk Traffic Payment Is Not Disposition
A receipt only proves money moved. It will not tell you when the clerk credited the payment. The plea on the record is not there either. Nor will it say whether a warrant is still active. It also says nothing about final case status. Hold on to that receipt, give the court its stated processing time, then confirm directly with the court docket.
Kilgore makes this warning explicit. The city's own page states that a warrant stays active until the payment is credited, not merely submitted. Mount Enterprise adds another guard: if TrafficPayment lists the wrong court, stop the transaction. Read the citation and call Mount Enterprise Municipal Court at 903-822-3269 instead.
Note: When the payment confirmation does not answer the records question, ask the clerk. Request a disposition or a certified copy.
Copies and Fees
Traffic cases carry several distinct costs. A fine is not the same as a court cost, a vendor convenience fee, a civil filing charge, a service fee, a driving-safety amount, or a copy fee. Ask the issuing Rusk County court for the current citation balance and the separate price for record copies.
| Researched item | Amount | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| JP2 civil filing | $54 | Civil filing, not a traffic-copy fee |
| JP2 officer service | $95 per person | Eviction or small claim service |
| OfficialPayments convenience fee | $4.95 on payments of $600 or less | Vendor fee |
| Henderson late fee | $25 after 30 days | City guidance; verify |
| Kilgore state time-payment fee | $15 after day 31 | Time plan |
| Mount Enterprise driving-safety course | $144 or $169 | Depends on citation; verify live |
The official JP2 page lists the civil and service amounts plainly.

Sitting beside ticket resources, that fee schedule is a reminder: know what each charge is for before you pay it.
Rusk County Clerk-First Ticket Paths
Rusk County traffic courts do not all post a name-search screen. Tatum lists a clerk phone number and a way to pay the city directly. Henderson and Kilgore steer you toward court instructions, office contact details, and payment pages instead. Those are still real paths to the docket. When you call, have the citation number ready. Also give the cited name, the issue date, and the record you want.
A clerk can tell a current balance apart from a court date. A disposition or a certified copy is a separate question. Mail requests work too. Ask first about copy charges, accepted payment, and return-envelope terms. If you go in person, confirm the counter location and its hours. This clerk-first approach keeps your appearance deadline safe. It works when a portal returns nothing or only takes payments.
Rusk City Counter Details Matter
Small details decide where you show up. Tatum Municipal Court sits at 680 Crystal Farms Road. It takes mail at PO Box 1105, and the phone number is 903-803-3580. Hours run 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The counter closes for lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Henderson's court page and staff directory list conflicting addresses, so call before you drive there. Kilgore splits its services. Hearings happen at the Police Department. Payments and clerk help are at City Hall.
That split is exactly why phone confirmation belongs in any Rusk County traffic record search. Bring the citation and ask which counter can confirm the hearing setting or prepare the disposition.
